'Bees in the time of Coronavirus' is a set of artist's books, made daily reflecting on the period of social isolation and the threat of the virus. The work examines the relationship between man and nature and incorporates delicate word and ink studies to pursue this line of enquiry.
A series of 42 and counting original artist books recounting the entry into lockdown and ensuing panic, aligned with the seeming rebirth of nature.
'Don't leave the hive. Don't swarm. A life disconnected, confused, fearful. With hope, faith, the bees must not swarm'.
The project captures a contemplative relationship with nature at humanity's most vulnerable.
The body of work has been further developed to a set of works on paper and a film which can be viewed under The perfect swarm.
